     Born and raised near the Outer Banks, North Carolina, Emilie Filipek began learning piano at the age of five. By the age of eight, she began competing in the North Carolina Music Association competitions at East Carolina University. For the next ten years, she competed in advanced levels at many different universities across the state of North Carolina, including Meredith College, Methodist University, and the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. From 2003 to 2010, Emilie Filipek was the winner of the North Carolina Music Association piano soloist scholarship for eight consecutive years. She has been performing in many recitals and concerts since she was young. In 2013, she moved to New Jersey, where she now continues teaching. Emilie graduated with her bachelor's in piano performance and pedagogy from Kean University in May of 2020. Her passion is to impart her knowledge of the elite art of classical piano in a way that makes music an exciting part of her students' daily lives.
